Science
Intent
We offer a science curriculum where children can investigate, enquire, learn through practical hands on investigation and be innovative. We want our children to become fully immersed in the scientific world that they live in and to be proud of the scientific discoveries that they make.
We ensure that:
- Our science lessons are practical and hands-on, and that children have opportunities to learn through exploration.
- That our science lessons go beyond the classroom, enabling our pupils to fully appreciate the awe and wonder of the world where we live.
- That our children’s natural curiosity, enquiring and reflective minds are encouraged and developed.
- We plan science lessons that are inspiring, engaging and purposeful.
- Our teachers deliver a sequence of lessons which build on prior learning and enable them to develop a connected knowledge base.
- We want our children to value and recognise the importance of science in everyday life, make amazing discoveries and become highly inquisitive learners.
