In the year 2000 the school was given Beacon School Status and began sharing its good practice with other schools, and to keep abreast with technological advances, changes within the building were necessary. A computer suite was installed in the staff room and the whole school was networked. The staff room moved into Mrs McDowall's office, and a new suite of offices was created by the main school entrance.

In 2001/2 an additional room for small group work was built, and opened to mark the school's 50th anniversary and the Queen's Golden Jubilee - the Jubilee Room.

Mr Yeardsley
In January 2003 the school had another very successful Ofsted inspection, and in September 2003 Mr Yeardsley, our first male teacher, was appointed as Deputy Head Teacher.

During the Spring of 2006 our children helped to design our new sensory garden. After the builders had finished we then planted the plants we had chosen.

At Easter 2006 Mrs McDowall retired as the Head Teacher after fifteen very successful years! After Easter Mr Yeardsley will be our new Head teacher.

In 2009 we had a water feature installed in our Sensory Garden.

In 2009 Mrs Poller and the children in the ECO School Action Team informed the whole school all about becoming an ECO School.  They talked about recycling, saving energy and growing our own vegetables.
